Dr Jeff Merrifield

Bringing the weirdly wonderful to everyday life

OUR AUTHOR

Playback Arts founded in 1976 and was incorporated into a limited company in 2006, initially to take theatrical shows to the Edinburgh festival (Fringe First winners 1976) later branching out to other theatre work, video, and later, books and publishing.

Along the way he  garnered inspiration from the likes of Tadeusz Kantor, Alejandro Jodorowsky and a long working relationship with Ken Campbell. While developing Playback Arts, Jeff  Merrifield worked for 43 years as a community arts organiser, youth arts administrator and Open University tutor.

Jeff  has had a number of books published, most of which are available from this online bookshop. Two new books are currently under development plus a project based on music and improvisation.
